Make sure your CV represents you in the best way possible. Your CV is your first impression and will help you secure an interview.

Tailor your cv to the job you are applying for. The employer is looking for information that he/she can recognize as pertinent to their job and/or company.

An answering machine with a professional message is necessary during the job search process. Indicate your name and /or phone number so the employer is confident that they are reaching the right person. Speak slowly, clearly and with confidence.

When an interview appointment is made, re-state the day and time to be sure that you have understood properly. The employer will appreciate your professionalism and efficiency.

Research the company before going in for the interview. You should be able to talk to the interviewer about their industry, product, and competitors. This shows interest in the company and that you have taken the time to learn about their products and/or services.

Interviews are visual resumes. Your dress, body language and communication skills are as important as the skills that landed you that interview. In many cases, the soft skills are the determining factor towards the final hiring decision.

All things being equal, the person who lands the job is not necessarily the one who is best qualified, but rather the one who knows the most about how to get hired!
